A Little bit about me, and what this page is all about
Why hello there! Thanks for checking out my little online bakery, and for clicking on this button to read about what i'm trying to do instead of heading straight for the pictures. To give you a little introduction to myself, my name is Julia, and i'm a baking addict. As you can see from the picture on the right, you'll never find me too far away from the kitchen. I recently completed my 2 years in Junior College, and have decided to take a year out before entering university, mainly to explore the world and myself, and to get involved in the heartbreaking news we hear and read about, but feel unable to help with. I want to prove to myself, and to anyone else, that you are truly never to young or too small to make a difference.
I started this page to raise funds for a volunteer expedition to Tanzania with Raleigh International (https://raleighinternational.org/countries/tanzania/), where we supported a local NGO, Shipo, to build a female latrine in a primary school. This was done in the hope of promoting gender equality, as most girls would drop out of school at puberty, due to the embarrassment. We also conducted a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programme in the school to educate the children on the importance of using soap to wash their hands.
Although the project is completed, I have decided to keep this page going in order to express a little bit of creativity, until i commit myself to fundraising for another cause.
I believe that there is always something you can do to help those around you, so why not sprinkle a little love around by buying a cake for someone, or even just for yourself.
